More than a quarter of a million photos and videos were shared on Twitter and Instagram during this year’s Comic-Con, and we have to admit, even we were pretty shocked to see the massive jump compared to last year. In just one year, the numbers have more than tripled from 82,591 to 277,606.

But it makes sense. More than ever, people like you and I are documenting our lives – from massive cultural events to grocery store runs. The World Cup made everyone take notice of the rise and importance of real-time content and social media. Comic-Con is yet another example of that.
