Whisper’s New Feature Lets Brands Learn From Candid Millennials
Called Whisper Polls, the product has recently been utilized by the tech company to supply publishers like Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Teen Vogue with gratis data for their editorial needs. It’s also been tested with LGBT advocacy group It Gets Better Mexico on Whisper’s Spanish-language version, asking participants about what it was like when they first came out of the closet to family members and other relevant questions. That effort was pro bono.

“Instagram wants to show you the best videos without completely destroying the sanctity of your main feed, so today it overhauled the Explore page with a slew of new video channels. Most importantly, there’s a personalized “Videos You Might Like” feed that draws from across the network. There’s also themed, hand-curated channels, like one for Coachella.”

Facebook Wants to Make Videos Searchable with AI Facial Recognition
“Facebook envisions a future dominated by mobile video. So it’s no surprise the company is working on a feature to automatically tag you and your friends to make those posts more searchable. … Algorithms will soon be able to identify who’s in the shot and tag the person appropriately so the moment is indexed forever on Facebook. That would allow you to go back in time and find any slice of any video in which a friend’s face appeared on frame.”
