If you grew up in the 80’s, chances are you’ve heard of (and smelled) Drakkar Noir. The L’Oreal-owned men’s cologne is an icon unto itself. Today, the Drakkar brand is back with the launch of the new Drakkar Essence and is asking people to take the Drakkar Challenge.

The launch is a completely digital campaign featuring NFL and social media superstar Cam Newton as the face of the Drakkar Essence brand. L’Oreal also partnered with Chute to create an engaging and social experience – getting people to join in on the conversation around the Drakkar brand through an interactive ad and microsite. As a salute to Cam, L’Oreal also added a philanthropic element to the campaign by donating $5 to the Cam Newton foundation for every photo shared.
